Poverty is such a nasty word isn't it? Have you ever looked at your bank account and noticed that it starts with a zero and ends with a zero? How did it make you feel? Did you feel emasculated? That is, did you feel weakened and down in spirit? Does your soul constantly whisper "I need money?"
Or maybe you don’t get the concept of being broke and would like to understand humans who go through this curious situation.
You could be a billionaire, a superstar or some sort of artificial intelligence. Don’t worry, this article would explain the six types of broke individuals so that you can better understand them.
See, being broke is one of the saddest situations on earth. A wet kitten couldn’t compete.

The world doesn’t seem as colorful when you’re in poverty. It’s like you’re the only kid in a world full of adults.
The longer you stay broke, the more your horizons seem to diminish. Impossibilities abound and if you’re like most people, indoors is the only place to be because it’s you and your broke ass against the big bad world.
Its funny how the domino effect begins, how all the cards quickly crumble. Suddenly, you’re out of toothpaste and cream and gas.
Everything seems to close in until you start to feel claustrophobic.
It feels worse if you’re a young man because you know you’ll be lonely. You know that no matter how cold the night gets, it’s just you, your favorite hand and some cream.
Why? Well females of the human species, don’t usually take kindly to broke males. It’s just how it is.
But perhaps the worst aspect of being broke is when you see no obvious way to get out of it.
This is the real stinger. This is where the paranoia, self-pity and self-loathing kicks in with full force.

But before we go on, here are some money quotes to make you feel better about life.

Money Quotes

Money won't create success, the freedom to make it will.---Nelson Mandela

A rich man is nothing but a poor man with money---W.C Fields

Recession is when a neighbor loses his job. Depression is when you lose yours.---Ronald Reagan

I  have always been afraid of banks---Andrew Jackson

The  lack of money is the root of all evil---Mark Twain

Do what you love and the money will follow---Marsha Sinetar

Tramping is too easy with all this money. My days were more exciting when I had to forage around for my next meal--- Christopher McCandless

The Holy Path aka Priest (1st Path of the broke)

How you deal with being broke depends on your personality. You may deal with it by becoming strangely holy. You consider it all vanity, the wealth and glitters of this world. What shall it profit a man huh?
You find renewed interest in God and you chase him with all your heart because seek ye first the kingdom of God…
How genuine your newfound holiness is depends on how quickly you get your finances in order. But carry on priest, heaven awaits you.
But if you’re not the spiritual type then you may follow the next path:

The Critic (2nd Path of the broke)

In this mode, you are more likely to notice the injustice and stinky moral decadence prevalent in our world. You’ll be bothered by the evils of capitalism. The sheer greed of your fellow countrymen will fill you with disgust.
How can someone spend thousands on an ordinary wristwatch when children are starving in Africa?
How can a photo site cover their photos with tags when other sites give out photos free of charge?
You’ll say stuff like if I was rich, I’ll be more level headed. I’ll have my priorities straight. I’ll dress in casual wear like Zuckerberg and donate a lot to charity.
So down to earth huh? But maybe you’re not the grounded type.

The Dreamer (3rd path of the broke)

Day dreaming is the easiest way to escape. With your earpiece and your favorite music, you could slide through the days living as an ultra successful millionaire while your actual net worth remains non-existent as if it clashed with a pissed off Thanos.
The only thing that can spoil a good daydream is a growling stomach.
But then if you give in to the sweet hunger sleep then your dreams would be even more lucid.
Be careful though, you could begin to act irrationally and wear pajamas during the day. You may forgo such trivialities like bathing or brushing your teeth because those things are of the physical and you belong in a higher plane.
But then you may not be interested in the allure of pretend millions.

The Rebel (4th path of the broke)

Robert K Merton, a famous sociologist once described the strain theory where individuals could not achieve their desired goals through available means so they resorted to strange tendencies like rebellion.
Anyway, you could be a rebel. You could claim to despise the things that society ascribes value to….like being rich. You could form your own path and join a gang of junkies where you’ll enjoy the pleasures of augmented realities.
All you’ll live for is some weed, or meth or coke or whatever the fack gets you high as a kite. Because getting high is the only worthwhile achievement.
But maybe you’re not a people person…

The Hermit (5th path of the broke)

It’s such a hassle to explain to people who don’t get the concept of being broke that you’re broke. They’ll be like, why didn’t you get tickets? The show was awesome. And you’ll shrug and roll your eyes and be like…well you know I can’t afford to.
And they’ll look at you like…it’s just a hundred bucks. And you’ll be like…yea, just a hundred bucks.
Sometimes you may not feel up for that kind of stuff…even when these people happen to be concerned friends.
The truth is that no one really understands the nature of the broke until they’re broke.
When you’re asked if you’re doing anything to get out of your condition, it would be difficult to explain.
After all, how can you explain what you don’t really understand? For this reason alone, home will be where your heart is and your ass is because that’s where the acceptance is.
Home does not judge.
You could continue to recoil this way until all you can do is hope for a miracle.
You could hope for a mysterious benefactor to find you in your cave and see the treasure in you and set sail to your dreams.
But hope is usually the last one to leave.

The Visionary (the 6th path of the broke)

Finally, you may be the type that keeps the faith even when your bank account is red and you got no credit and the world thinks you’re good for…
This could be because you have such high expectations for yourself. To you, your condition is only temporary. You’ve got a plan inside a plan inside a bigger plan. And it’s all going to work out eventually.
The truth is, you believe you weren’t born to be broke. You’re just too special. And when you imagine others are smirking at you because of your financial storms, you smile secretly and mutter, “Don’t you worry. I’ll yet surprise you all”.
Now, don’t just claim your spot. Don’t say I am the visionary without any afterthought. Know that whatever path you choose to take, your situation could become a story of the past or a never ending swirl of hopelessness.
At the end of the day, it all depends on you.
Also if you are a gazillionaire or some sort of celebrity or a member of the AI clan, I hope you've gotten a good idea of the way of the broke. Fascinating aren't they?
